"SHARMAJI 'S SON TOPPED IN BOARDS........look at your scores", "SHARMAJI 'S SON GRABBED A JOB IN GOOGLE, .......you are working at not a very high fii firm", SHARMAJI'S SON IS REPRESENTING OUR COUNTRY AT WKF......look at you , just a national medalist"....... these are most common dialogues by most of Indians parents which are we used to in day to day life.
Above all are most common examples of Comparative Analysis.
What ever post you are, which ever job you have been doing, whatever studies you have been doing - one thing most of us do is "Comparative Analysis".
What is Comparative Analysis?
In this we tend to compare our lives with others, we don't value the things we have and tend to gain life which others are living.
Dreaming of good life and Comparative Analysis are totally different things.
In comparative Analysis, you will come across dialogues like "My friend is doing this and i m stucked here", "That person has progressed soo much and i have done nothing", ......and many more dialogues where you basically compare your life with other people.
I was also doing the same, but a Professor of my college made me understood below:
He showed me a small cup of Tea and asked "How much chai can be filled in this?"
I replied: just the size of cup and not more then that.
He replied: The same way ,why are you pressurizing yourself seeing others.
In life mostly everyone is tend to do comparative Analysis, but do it give any results?...........No
Dreaming high and comparing life with other people surrounding us are totally different thing,
We should Aim high , we should have goals,.............but at end it should not be Comparative to everyone surrounding us.
Looking at a cricketer, a Bollywood star , a millionaire or any celebrity , you can admire their work, you can even dream of achieving things which they have achieved
Personality begins where comparison leaves off. Be unique. Be memorable. Be confident. Be proud.” – Shannon L. Alder
